2022 Report on Firearms in New Jersey

The purpose of this report was to provide an accurate description of firearm access in New Jersey.  Specifically, we wanted to know how many New Jerseyans live in homes where firearms are typically kept, how many firearms they own, why they own those firearms, how the firearms are stored, and how often they carry their firearms outside their homes. This survey was statewide in collaboration with the GVRC and Eagleton Center for Public Interest Polling at Rutgers.

These surveys was be conducted by telephone using interviews July 18-27, 2022 with a sample of 1,018 adult New Jersey residents.  Results will be used to inform programs and policies to reduce the incidence of firearm violence.
