Objective:
This study is a national- and regional-level partnership to provide maps to the public that communicate safe storage locations for firearms. There are myriad reasons why gun owners would want to safely store their guns away from their homes including, but not limited to:
- Decreasing the likelihood of suicide in the home if a loved one is in crisis
- Preventing violence perpetration
- Protecting against theft
- Not wanting guns in the home if out of town visitors are staying over
Methods:
Information on available safe storage locations will be collected, ultimately culminating into a publicly available map of locations across NJ and neighboring regions.
