Objective:
This grant facilitated the creation and dissemination of the New Jersey Safe Firearm Storage Map, a free online tool to connect New Jersey firearm owners with local firearm retailers willing to consider temporarily storing their personally owned firearms. Legal paths for temporary away-from-home firearm storage offer a straightforward method to reduce the risk of suicide, unintentional shootings, and firearm
theft. This grant will further facilitate an evaluation of the experience of participating firearm retailers and further dissemination efforts aimed at increasing the number of participating sites and increasing the geographic coverage of the state.
