Cohen, John

John D. Cohen is a Rutgers Professor and former acting Undersecretary for Intelligence and Counter-terrorism Coordinator at the United States Department of Homeland Security. He has over 34 years experience working in law enforcement and homeland security. While at Rutgers University he has co-led an international effort focusing on the threat of mass shootings and targeted attacks and has worked with both practitioners and researchers in law enforcement, mental health, education and social sciences to develop threat mitigation strategies and response plans to aid local efforts to address school shootings and other acts of mass violence.
