GVRC Funded Projects
Since February 2019, the NJ Gun Violence Research Center (GVRC) has supported internal research funding for faculty, doctoral students, and staff to advance rigorous, evidence-based scholarship on gun violence. Aligned with GVRC’s mission to serve as a center of excellence, funded projects span disciplines including public health, policy, and behavioral science. Awards are granted through a competitive RFP process to foster innovative approaches to prevention and intervention.
Projects were awarded from three different categories:
- Scholar grants supporting completion of a manuscript for peer-reviewed journal submission
- Grants supporting analysis of available gun violence related data
- Full-scale pilot studies.
The New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center hosted a training day at Rutgers University, bringing together trainees and experts to advance firearm suicide prevention. The event featured research presentations, career development panels, and mentorship sessions, fostering collaboration, networking, and new research ideas.
