Research Interests

Dr. Bond's research explores the intersection of firearms and suicide, with a focus on understanding risk factors, prevention strategies, and interventions. Her work examines who dies by firearm suicide and their interactions with mental health care before their death, the extent to which health care providers screen for firearm access as a suicide prevention measure, and the effectiveness of credible messengers in promoting secure firearm storage. Through her research, she aims to inform practices and policies that reduce firearm-related suicide deaths and improve public health outcomes.
