The role of firearms in the Occurrences of Interpersonal Violence Among Gay, Bisexual, and other Sexual Minority Men and Transgender Women
Objective:
This project will collect data from cisgender SMM and transgender women living in New Jersey and will provide much needed information regarding the intersection of gun access, possession, and violence victimization/perpetration with interpersonal violence in the state. The research team maintains close working relationships with many of the LGBTQ-service organizations throughout the state and has a comprehensive internal database of local grassroots/volunteer-led LGBTQ-focused organizations. The project involves a series of qualitative interviews with eligible New Jersey residents, which will inform a subsequent quantitative survey that can help us better understand how gun violence has impacted these underserved New Jersey communities.
