GVRC Director of Policy
Previously, he served as Associate Executive Director for Policy and Research at the New Jersey Assembly Majority Office for 13 years. In that capacity, Keith managed the office’s internal research and policy team and coordinated policy development for five Speakers of the Assembly. He returned to Rutgers University in November of 2018 to assist in the development of the GVRC, while simultaneously serving as the Senior Director of External affairs for Rutgers. Keith also holds a joint appointment with the dean of the Rutgers School of Public Health as Director of Public Health Affairs.
Prior to his time with the Assembly, Keith was Director of the Rutgers Trenton Academic Center at the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, where he focused on the development of school based research centers and served as a University-wide resource, communicating academic and policy initiatives from all units of the University to the administration, lawmakers and staff. Keith also served for a time as Director of Development for the school, directing advocacy campaigns to secure state-level public funding for research and capital infrastructure priorities and cultivating major gifts.
Keith has been active in New Jersey government and politics for decades, having worked for several state-wide campaigns and local elections. Early in his career he served as Legislative Director for the New Jersey Association of Counties and as a Research Associate for the New Jersey Business and Industry Association. Keith has been an adjunct faculty at Rutgers for over a decade conducting research and teaching courses on journalism, government and politics.
Keith is a graduate of The Peddie School in Hightstown. He holds a B.A. from the University of Kentucky, an M.A. from the Rutgers’ Eagleton Institute of Politics and an MPS from the City University of New York’s Graduate School of Political management (now at George Washington University).
